JoAnn Rita Parzick's Obituary
JoAnn Rita Parzick, age 82, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on the night of March, 29th, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband, John Parzick and is survived by her brother, Lou Stellute, and her loving children, Connie Ambrosio and John Parzick. JoAnn was adored by her adult grandchildren Alaina Mei and her husband Leo and Carey Gotti and her husband Alexandre; and her youngest grandson, Bryce Parzick. She was a loving great-grandmother to Thomas Mei, Lucia Mei and Atlas Gotti, and was anxiously awaiting her fourth great grandchild, a soon-to-be-born baby girl Gotti.
A nurse for over 30 years, she subscribed to the notion that being a nurse is not "what you do", it is "who you are,"; and she often liked to refer proudly to herself and other nurses as "women of science." JoAnn rose from the nursing ranks to become a Home Health Care Administration executive in the latter part of her career. She also edited nursing professional journals.
JoAnn's big belly-laugh, her chic fashion sense and her soup that fed many souls will be missed dearly by her family and her many friends throughout the Pittsburgh area.
Services in memory of JoAnn's life will be held at a later date when restrictions on public gatherings have been removed. The services will take place at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home at 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Online condolences may by shared at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
