Joan P. Zukiewicz's Obituary
Joan P. Zukiewicz, age 86, of South Park, passed away peacefully in her home on July 16, 2026.
Joan grew up in the South Side of Pittsburgh, where she taught at various Catholic schools in the area. She possessed a profound love for family, and her presence was felt at every significant event in the lives of her beloved children and grandchildren. Whether it was concerts, sporting events, or other milestone celebrations, Joan was always there, offering her unwavering support and encouragement.
For an impressive 53 years, Joan was married to the love of her life, sharing a life enriched by love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they traveled to many countries, creating cherished memories, with Hilton Head holding a special place in their hearts as their favorite getaway.
In addition to her roles as a loving mother and grandmother, Joan was also an accomplished businesswoman. She and her husband proudly owned the Baldwin Shop 'n Save from 1971 until 2016, where her engaging personality and commitment to the community left a lasting impact. She will be deeply missed by all who had the chance to know her.
Joan is survived by her children Patricia (David) Kinneer, Joseph (Pam) Zukiewicz, Jr., Nancy (Richard) Perdziola, and Christine (Todd) Irwin; grandchildren Anne (Jacob), Sarah (Brent), Matthew, Erin (Henry), Jason, Alexander, Nicholas, Grace, Daniel (Sarah), Kate, and Joseph (Sofia); great-grandchildren Eleanor, Emily, Victoria, Isaac, and Isabella; brothers Jack Buck and Jim Buck; brothers-in-law Frank Foley and Russell Zukiewicz; sister-in-law Roberta Carmen; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Zukiewicz, Sr., parents John and Pauline Buck, and sister Patricia Buck.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, July 20 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Hope Parish, Nativity Church, 5811 Curry Road, Pittsburgh 15236. Interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
