Joan T. Dietz's Obituary
Joan T. (Welding) Dietz, born on October 19, 1932, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023. Known for her warm spirit and love for family, she leaves behind a legacy filled with memories of laughter, love, and kindness.
Joan was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children Michael A. (Suzie) Dietz and Maryann (George) Roney. Her legacy continues with her grandchildren,
Corri (Kristin) Pranevich, Sonya L. (John) Dietz Odioso, Michael J. Dietz, Sharyn V. (Michael) Roney, Michelle L. (Clint) Roney-Eakin, and Jessica L. Dietz. Joan was also blessed with several great-grandchildren: Sydnei, Johnny, Ryan, Benjamin, Chase, Casey, Devon, Mariah, and Theresa.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Viryl Welding, her loving husband, Ernest (Ernie) Dietz, her daughter Sharon Lynn Dietz, and her brothers, John R. and Richard M. Welding. The memory of their love and companionship will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew them.
Throughout her life, Joan offered comfort and care to everyone she knew. Her dedication, compassion, and willingness to help made a significant impact on the lives of many. Her life was exemplified by her selflessness and her profound belief in the power of kindness.
Joan had a zest for life that was infectious. She found joy in playing cards and games, a hobby that allowed her to connect with others over friendly competition and laughter. But above all, Joan's greatest passion was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, be it a grandchild's birthday, a family holiday, or simply a quiet evening at home. Her unwavering devotion to her family was evident in everything she did.
Friends and family will be received Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Followed by a funeral service on Monday at 10 am in the funeral home chapel.
