Jean E. Zora's Obituary
Jean Elizabeth Zora, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023, her 94th birthday. Born on July 12, 1929, to the late Alfred and Anna Farrell, Jean was a woman of strength, resilience, and unwavering love.
Jean was a graduate of Clairton High School and Seton Hill University. After her education, she moved from her childhood home in Clairton to Whitehall, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
Jean was the cherished wife of the late John Zora, to whom she was married for 63 years. Jean often said, "I had a wonderful life because I had my husband, three great boys, their wives, and wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren."
Jean's legacy lives on through her three sons, John A. (Marian Finan) Zora, MD., James R. (Catherine Joy) Zora, DMD., and Jeffrey A. (Mary) Zora. She was a guiding light for her grandchildren, Jennifer E. Brandt (Stephen) MD., J. Gregory (Kirby) Zora, MD., Kristin L. (Brian) Malock, Matthew J. (Delaney) Zora, Daniel J. Zora, and Jonathan W. Zora. Jean was also blessed to know and love her great-grandchildren, Nathan and Addison Malock, Julia and William Brandt, and Leighton Zora. Jean is survived by her sisters, Zoe Henderson and Norma McCormack, sister-in-law Evelyn Farrell, and many loving nieces, nephews, and their spouses.
Jean's interests were varied and numerous. She loved to read, play bridge, cook, and garden. A keen bridge player, Jean's competitive spirit and sharp mind were always on display during games. Her love for travel took her all around the world, enriching her life with diverse cultures, experiences, and friendships. Yet, despite her many interests and pursuits, Jean's favorite pastime was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Their happiness was her greatest joy, and their achievements her proudest moments.
Jean's life was a testament to her strength, resilience, and love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless memories to be cherished by those who knew her.
