Jean Theresa Sadlik's Obituary
Jean T. Sadlik (Zarycki), 88, of One Loudoun, VA, formerly of Pleasant Hills, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, July 29, 2021. Born on October 19, 1932, in Uniontown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Payonk) Zarycki.
She was the youngest of five and the only girl, spoiled by her four older brothers. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish, established for Polish speaking people, and attended the Parish School where she was an active member of the Sodality and Polish Woman’s Alliance. After graduation from Uniontown High School, she went on to work for the Fayette County Court House, issuing marriage licenses before she met and married Joseph, the man of her dreams, on October 17, 1959.
She was a devoted wife and mother who spent her entire life in service to the Catholic Church. She was a spiritual woman and involved in many church activities from the Alter Society, where she was a past president, to being a CCD teacher. Mostly, she enjoyed singing with the St. Elizabeth choir. One of her most cherished memories was singing for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican in Rome, which she actually did twice. In addition to singing, she enjoyed spending time with family, especially her nieces and nephews and their children, jewelry making, ice cream and last but not least, spoiling her grand dogs, Finnegan and Levi.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph; her adored son, Joseph Mark; and her brothers, Edward, Thaddeus (Ted), and Francis (Frank).
She will be sorely missed by her devoted son John of One Loudoun, VA; her daughter-in-law, Valerie of Arvada, CO; her older brother Stanley Zaryske of Lancaster, PA; her nieces and nephews, Carol Ann Zarycki, Lois Gagle (Todd), Alan Zarycki (Suzanne), Greg Zaryske (Jennifer), Janine Barry (Dave), Janice Musante (Mark), Kimberly Zaryski Evans; and many great nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation, which will be held Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg, VA from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass will be held at St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Leesburg, VA on Friday August 6, 2021, at 10:00 AM.
In addition, there will also be a visitation at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Pleasant Hills, PA on Friday evening, August 6, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church (Triumph of Holy Cross Parish) in Pleasant Hills, PA at 10:00 AM with internment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery immediately following in McMurray, PA.
