Jean E. Emswiller's Obituary
Jean E. Emswiller, age 99 of Jefferson Hills passed away peacefully in her home on September 30, 2024.
Jean lived a long and richly rewarding life and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Daughter of the late Edgar and Emma Emery, wife of the late Tim Emswiller and the late Lou Blattner. Jean is also preceded in death by baby Owen Emswiller; sisters, Ruth Richey, Thelma Hartzell, Naomi Sojack and brother Edgar Emery, Jr.
She is survived by her son Tom Emswiller (Ann) of San Jose, CA.; grandchildren, Nate Emswiller (Meghan) of Denver, CO. and Kerri Emswiller of Lexington, KY; great-grandsons, Ben and Charlie Emswiller; also stepdaughters, Bonnie Blattner of Yakima, WA. and Judy Blattner of Charlotte NC.; grandchildren, Drake, Emily and Eric and four great-grandchildren.
A registered nurse, she was retired from Jefferson Hospital where she was Manager of Preadmission Review. She was a longtime member of Pine Run United Methodist Church, Homestead Hospital Nurses' Alumni, the Clairton/Jefferson AARP #1612 and a former usher for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
The family has requested that donations be made to your preferred charity, instead of sending flowers.
To honor her wishes, visitation and services will be private and have been entrusted to the care of Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh.
