Jean R. Coffey's Obituary
Jean R. Coffey, age 96, of Pittsburgh, passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 3, 2023. Jean is survived by her loving children, Bonnie Stephens, Thomas (Pamela) Coffey, Eileen (Barry) Winkler, and Paul (Kellie) Coffey, by 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Grace Pekins, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Thomas R. Coffey Sr., her parents Matthew and Grace Reid, and her sister Nancy Scott.
Jean was the first child born in the United States from a family of immigrants from Scotland. She was the valedictorian of her class at Westinghouse High School. Before meeting her husband she worked in the banking industry. She met her husband on a blind date and that led to a long happy marriage and four wonderful children. Above all Jean cherished the time she spent with her family.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 1:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills PA 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 9:30am-10:30am at Saint Paul of the Cross Parish - Saint Anne Church, 400 Hoodridge Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15234. If travelling in procession please meet at the funeral home no later than 8:30am.
