Jean V. Chomas' Obituary
Jean V. Chomas, 93, of West Mifflin, PA, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026. Born on February 21, 1933, she was the daughter of the late James and Ann Kapfer Kospick.
A proud 1954 graduate of the West Penn School of Nursing, Jean devoted 44 years of her career to McKeesport Hospital, where she exemplified compassion and care for her patients. Her passion for nursing was mirrored in her love for her family and her faith; she was a devoted member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish - St. Joseph's Church, who found solace and strength in her Catholic faith.
Beyond her impressive career and devotion to family, Jean enjoyed traveling and tending to her garden, where she found peace and joy in nurturing life.
Jean is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Charles Carlson.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen L. Chomas, Jr., with whom she shared 68 years - a union built on love, mutual respect, and a shared journey through life's adventures.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh PA, 15236, followed by a Blessing Service at 1:00 pm in the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home chapel.
