Jean E. Abrams (McCullough)'s Obituary
Jean Abrams went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday morning, November 5, 2016. Cherished wife of John, who preceded her to Heaven, as well as her parents, Earl A. and Emma "Lulu" McCullough; and siblings, Ortha Wise, Merrill McCullough, and Velma McCullough. She was the devoted and loving mother of Dr. Janice Abrams, Judith Whitehead, Jim Abrams, and Jessica Abrams; beloved grandmother of Christy Bonomo, Julie Bonomo, and Cate Whitehead; precious great-grandmother of Tom Lockward and Ginny Lockward; adored friend, aunt, great aunt, and cousin to many loving family members and friends.
Jean's faith in God dominated her life, along with her love of her family and friends. Her time spent working in a nursery school was very special to her, reflecting her heartfelt love for children. Evident to all was her love of animals, especially the many dogs and cats that knew her and loved her back in kind, including her "sweet girl," Phoebe. An amazing talent at gardening, an avid reader, particularly of mystery books, a passion for tennis (having once been a regional amateur tennis champion) and a long time fervent love and angst for Steelers football were a few among her many interests. A strong woman, a kind woman, Jean touched many lives. She will be missed and will continue to be loved and treasured by all who knew her.
