Janice Arlene Annesley's Obituary
Janice Arlene Annesley, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024, in her hometown of Pittsburgh, where she was also born on October 1, 1942.
Born and raised in Pleasant Hills, Janice was a proud member of the first graduating class at Thomas Jefferson High School. She furthered her education at the West Penn School of Nursing, which paved the way for a remarkable career in healthcare and friendships that lasted a lifetime. Janice dedicated 35 years of her life to the Baptist Home Nursing Home in Mt. Lebanon, where she not only provided exceptional care to her patients but also forged lasting friendships with her colleagues. Even after her retirement, she remained an active member of the community, often going to lunch with her Baptist Home friends and attending South Park Theater Shows with her "South Park Theater Ladies" group.
Janice was a regular at the gym, where she worked out five days a week and continued walking over a mile daily until recently when she was no longer able to do so. Her love for the outdoors was evident in the meticulous care she took of her yard, a task that brought her immense satisfaction. Janice's nurturing nature extended beyond her garden to her family, whom she loved and cared for deeply.
In her later years, Janice found a new way to give back to the community by volunteering with hospice, offering comfort and support to those in their final moments. Her empathy and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone she met, and her legacy of service will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Janice's life was enriched by her beloved family. She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Jim) Annesley-Sippey; her grandchildren, Nathan Sippey and Jason Sippey; her nephew, David (Madeleine) Angell; her great-niece, Oakley Angell; and her cousin, Leslie Lynch, who was like a sister to her. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Janice's passing was preceded by that of her parents, Hugh and Helen Lynch, and her sister, Judy Angell. The memories they shared will continue to be celebrated by those who loved them.
Friends and family will be received Sunday, February 4th from 1-4 P.M. at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
A funeral service will be held following visitation on Sunday, February 4th at 4 P.M. in the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
