Janet (affectionately known as “Gram” ) was a fun loving, sweet, and charismatic soul. She was a Girl Scout Leader in the 70’s, and a fun one, at that. Her neighbors in Tepe Plan would often wave to her as she sat on her porch swing. Her favorite place was her camp, which Joe and Lisa would take her to as often as possible and toast their arrival with Ginger Brandy...every single trip! Janet loved to travel, in her 60’s and 70’s traipsing about the country with her best friends Ruth George and Donna Martinelli, especially to camp, in her beloved Chevy Truck. Her last big trip was a cross country drive with Cathy to Colorado to see Bri and Brad get married this past June. She loved beagles, but had great affection for granddogs Zeke, Zyla, Zen, Aimee, and Tiki. She also loved her cats, Sonny, Domino, and Nigel, whom she called all “Pretty Kitty” because Alzheimer’s made her forget their names all the time. She loved good food, fun company, and Randy Travis, who she got to shake hands with, and refused to wash said hand for days. But most of all, Janet, Gram, Mom, loved life, and lived it to the fullest.
Special thanks to her Hospice Care Team from AHN, especially Krista, Darla, Susan, Kelli, Cici, Kristen, Sue, and Mary Beth. With your care and compassion, her life was given the best quality. Also, to Faith and the staff of Prime Time Adult Care, who provided her with socialization, friendship, fun and respite, as well as Helen Winn and Lisa Watson, who cared for her at home when Cathy had commitments.
