Janet L Slack's Obituary
Janet (Bock) Slack, of Dravosburg, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
Janet is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years Joseph P. Slack; loving siblings Bobbi (Ken) Levy, James (Ashley) Bock, and Michael (Janet) Bock; adoring aunt of Michael Leaf, Jennifer Leaf, Jarad, Jonathan, Justin Levy, Maureen Steinhiser, Duke and Bridget Bock, Michael Bock, Wayne Kutchak, and Kristin Dubois; sister-in-law of Julie (Wayne) Kutchak, Mark Blochinger, and Ann Coyne; also great aunt of many nieces and nephews and her sweet dog Tuko.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Nancy Bock; sister Karen Blochinger and her fur babies Storm and Pearl.
Janet obtained her Master's Degree in special education and went on to teach at the Children's Institute of Pittsburgh for 36 years. During her time there, she touched the lives of many children that she taught.
She loved spending time with her husband and dogs at their camp in Elk County.
Janet was a gentle, loving soul who was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be missed greatly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A Blessing Service will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 10:00 am in the funeral home's chapel.
