Janet Claire Campbell's Obituary
Janet C. Campbell, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2024, in Bethel Park, PA. Born in McKeesport, PA, Janet's life was centered on family and relationships, nurtured with love and friendship.
Born in 1930, Janet's early years were spent in the company of her loving parents, August and Anna Noel, who instilled in her the values of faith and commitment to family. These beliefs guided her through her early years as a graduate of McKeesport Area High School and throughout the rest of her life.
Janet was employed at Copperweld for ten years. She was very proud of her job and spoke highly of it throughout her life. She eventually moved on to the role of her dreams – building a beautiful family with her ever adoring and beloved husband W Earl Campbell.
Janet and her soulmate, Earl, went on to raise three successful sons. Their pride in their boys was limitless and was the most profound part of their lives. Janet's greatest legacy is the values she passed to the generations of family she leaves behind.
Preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, her sister Hazel Topper, and her grandson Raymond Jr., Janet's love and lessons will live on through her devoted sons Bill Campbell (Beth), Ray Campbell (Jennifer), and Tom Campbell (Jo Ellen). Her memory will be forever treasured by her surviving sisters Jean Watson, Charolene Gruber, and Gail Pratt.
Janet's grandchildren, Kala, Ryan, Rachel, David, and Chelsea, along with her great-grandchildren, Savanna, Michael, Lucas, Noah, Eleanor, and Hayden will carry forward her spirit of love and generosity. She was genuinely interested in tracking their growth and activities – each of them a testament to Janet's capacity to love and nurture. Janet is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her family, Janet's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. She was a devoted member of McKeesport Presbyterian Church. Her devotion was demonstrated by her participation and contributions as part of the congregation.
Janet had many interests and talents. Her passion for cooking delicious meals and baked treats for her family and friends was unrivaled. She was an avid bridge player, delighting in the camaraderie and challenge of the game as she gathered with friends for spirited play. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in knitting, creating beautiful pieces that were both a testament to her skill and a symbol of her desire to keep her loved ones warm and comforted.
The past year and half she enjoyed time at the Residence of Bethel Park. Her life touched the hearts of many and lasting friendships were forged. She embraced all of the offered activities with zeal and commitment and sparked enthusiasm in others.
As we bid farewell to Janet C. Campbell, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire. Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of those who knew her and felt her love.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm, Saturday, July 27th at the Residence of Bethel Park; 5851 Keystone Dr., Bethel Park, PA 15102.
