Janet B. Andrews' Obituary
Janet B. Andrews, 80, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, in the comfort of her home. She was born in Homestead, PA on March 23, 1943, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Billi) Kusek.
A proud graduate of Homestead High School, Janet embarked on a fulfilling career in administration with Mesta Machine before moving on to serve as an administrative assistant in the HR Department at Mercy Hospital. However, Janet's most cherished role was that of a mother, a position she held with grace and dedication. She prided herself in making the birthday cakes for her children each year.
Janet had many hobbies and interests including shopping and indulging herself in a good book or soap opera in her free time. She found joy in traveling and exploring new places. Crafting was another one of her passions, and she had a knack for creating beautiful centerpieces and floral arrangements that brought a touch of beauty to any space or celebration.
Her love for music was evident in her active participation in the choir for Lebanon Presbyterian Church and her green thumb was well-known, as she spent countless hours tending to her garden.
Janet held a deep reverence for holiday traditions. She was the heart of every family celebration, hosting gatherings that were filled with laughter, joy, and an abundance of good food.
Janet's life was a testament to the values she held dear. She was family-focused and believed in the power of love and togetherness. A devoted grandmother who cherished every moment spent and memory made with her grandchildren. Her home was a haven of warmth and affection, a place where everyone felt welcome and cherished.
Janet is survived by her three children, Scott (Sara) Andrews, Kristen (Brian) Sakely, and Mark (Bonny) Andrews; her two grandchildren, whom she adored, Morgan and Kendall Sakely; her brother, Robert (Nancy) Kusek and her Grand-dog, Jax. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Harry Andrews and her son, Dean Andrews.
