James A. Warden's Obituary
James Albert Warden, age 80, of South Park (formerly of Knoxville), died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on September 30, 2021.
Beloved husband of 50 years to Andrea (Schultz) Warden. Father to Christopher (Nicole) Warden and Megan (Mike) Stearman. Pappy to Anna Huber, Jimmy and Gracie Warden, and Jonah and Ellis Stearman. Brother to the late Shirley Wahler, Edwin Warden, and Audrey Farkas. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Jim lived his life practicing humor, kindness, and gratitude. He always had a dad joke at the ready and a kind word for everyone. He adored his five grandchildren, enjoyed games of monopoly, the Late Show with Johnny Carson, tinkering in his woodshop, and a Friday evening glass of Old Granddad. A fan of flea markets, he had a large collection of rusty tools, buckets of nails and could fix anything deemed unusable by most with some rope, wood glue, and a screwdriver.
He dedicated his career to the youth, serving as a teacher and elementary school guidance counselor and his impact is still felt today by those now adult children. An avid sportsman, he provided coaching, mentoring and friendship to the youth of the Carrick Sportsman’s Club through their Junior Programs.
His life’s mantra - “Gratitude is Riches, Complaint is Poverty and the Worst I Ever had was Wonderful” was practiced by him daily and he encouraged those around him to live with gratitude and grace.
