James Arthur Rattigan's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce that James "Jim" Rattigan, age 74, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away April 29, 2026. Born on November 4, 1951, in New Brighton, PA, he was the son of the late James Rattigan and Elfiede Hermann.
A proud graduate of New Brighton High School, Jim furthered his education by earning an Associate's degree from the Community College of Beaver County. His love for learning transcended his own pursuits; he dedicated countless hours to tutoring students in reading, igniting a passion for literature and knowledge that would inspire generations. His patience and kindness left an indelible mark on the young minds he nurtured, embodying a spirit of generosity that defined his character.
Jim was a man of diverse interests, finding joy in the pages of a good book, the tranquility of his garden, and the thrill of travel. Each experience enriched his life and contributed to the tapestry of memories he cherished.
He leaves behind two steadfast companions, Kalen Boyd and Eric Stahl, who will carry forward his legacy of compassion and kindness. In their hearts, the echoes of his gentle encouragement will remain, a testament to his unwavering support and love.
Jim Rattigan's memory will continue to inspire, his kindness will reverberate through the lives he touched, and his spirit will forever dwell in the hearts of those who loved him. As we say our farewells, let us carry forward his legacy of caring, learning, and giving.
In accordance with Jim's wishes, he will be cremated and services will be private.
