James Paul Mazziotti
Age 91, of West Mifflin, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 22, 2016. The son of the late Michele "Mike" and Celesta Mazziotti of Parma, Italy, he was born in Blacklick, PA on October 23, 1924, the youngest of ten children. He was preceded in death by 5 infant siblings and 3 adult siblings, Joseph Mazziotti, John Mazziotti, and Jennie (Mazziotti) Cuffia. Survived by one brother, Gilbert Mazziotti of Murrysville. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the Philippines and Japan. On July 4, 1947, he married Wanita (Hamilton) Mazziotti and resided several places before settling in West Mifflin for 61 years, where they raised three wonderful daughters Sherry (Mazziotti) Bacco, Mickey (Mazziotti) Benson and Leann Mazziotti, who blessed him with 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He graduated from Robert Morris School of Business in 1948 and began to work for his brother at Jackson Welding Supply Co. of Pittsburgh, and eventually held the office of secretary in the company. He aided in growing it into the thriving business it is today. He retired in 1989, and traveled with his beloved wife, Wanita, and with the East Suburban Friendship Club. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. La famiglia e tutti. He will be missed. Family and friends received on Monday, April 25, from 6-9 PM and Tuesday, April 26, from 1-4 & 6-9 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, April 27, at 11:30 AM. Interment and military honors will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
