James A. Marasco's Obituary
James Anthony Marasco, age 62, of South Park, formerly of Oakland, passed away after losing his fight with pancreatic cancer on April 13, 2021.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Vicki Veto Marasco; cousin, Richard (Janet) Bardsley; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ann and Joseph Veto; sisters-in-law, Valerie (Michael) Shisler and Joanne Veto; brother-in-law, Paul Veto; nieces, Jessica Shisler, Lauren Shisler, Kristen Shisler; as well as many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Marasco; his nan, Anna Keating; and uncle, James Keating.
Jim was easy going, caring, gentle, kind and always ready to help his friends. Anyone who knew Jim knew he really loved his Pittsburgh Penguins and all things Irish. Over the years, he adopted many furry friends and volunteered for local animal rescue charities. If there was a Chicago concert in town, you can bet Jim was there. Jim was a lighthouse enthusiast and visited many lighthouses up and down the East Coast.
Friends will be received on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. & Monday, April 19, 2021, 6-8 P.M. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236.
In compliance with Pennsylvania guidelines only 25 people are permitted in the visitation room at any given time. Please be prepared to wait outside. Face coverings must be worn by all in attendance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 20th at 9:30 A.M. at Saint Paul of the Cross Parish, Saint Winifred worship site, 550 Sleepy Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15228. Please meet at church.
