James David Hollis' Obituary
James David Hollis, 80, of Whitaker, PA passed away on March 01, 2024.
James is survived by his children Tanya (Joseph) Frena and Ross Hollis; grandchildren Shane Hollis and Alexis (Daniel) Frena; great-granddaughter Isabella Hollis; sister Dawn Kosinski; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially his faithful friend Lloyd Strang.
Preceded in death by his parents Walter and Sara Hollis and siblings Thomas Hollis, Edith Steiner, and Jean Kosinski.
James was a proud veteran of the US Army. During his service, he was deployed twice to Vietnam. He was a member of the 65th Engineer Battalion whose motto was "First in, Last out". He retired from US Steel after more than 30 years. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, and was a motorcycle and an antique car enthusiast. James will be greatly missed by all those who had the chance to know him.
The family would like to thank Tina from AHN Hospice for taking tremendous care of James. James had a strong faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Family would also like to thank Pastor Farrel and Debby Abraham for their radio program Sharing Pearls that had a great impact on James' life.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9 at 10 am in the funeral home's chapel. Burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
