James D. Conley's Obituary
James D. (Jim) Conley passed away peacefully on Feb 13th with his wife of 57 years Nancy (Ogilvy), by his side. Formerly of West Mifflin and South Park Twp, Jim and Nancy moved to Chelsea, MI to be near family last July.
Jim was born on Nov 14th, 1941 to Joe and Nettie (Suhoski) Conley, the 1st of four brothers. He attended Duquesne High School and served in the US Army with the 2nd Recon Battalion, Berlin Brigade patrolling The Wall at ‘Checkpoint Charlie’ in 1964-65. He met Nancy on a blind date and was married in Sept 1967, dedicating the next 20 years to raising two boys of his own with much time dedicated to "dad stuff"….fishing, camping, Little League baseball, and especially West Mifflin Wrestling where many life long friends were made.
Jim enjoyed reading, travel, games, golf, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and later watching his granddaughters grow into young ladies. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert (Bob). He is survived by brothers Paul (Jan) and Jack (Debbie Sullivan) both of West Mifflin, sons Mark of Canton, MI, David (Hilarie) of Chelsea, MI and his beloved granddaughters – Meagan, Shannon, and Ryan.
Always humble, Jim will be inurned during a private ceremony at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 on Friday, March 1st with the family welcoming friends between 1-3pm at Yoli’s Cucina - Rt 885 in Jefferson Hills - for a celebration of his life.
