James E. Blair's Obituary
James "Jim" Blair, age 58, lifelong resident of Overbrook, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of family. Jim was born on April 4, 1966, the beloved son of Vivian (Rovinski) Blair and the late James Blair.
In addition to his mother, Jim is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Blair; and his three children whom he adored, Zachary Blair, Dylan Blair, and Carly Blair. He also leaves his brothers, Thomas (Casey) Blair and Donald Blair; his father-in-law, Thomas (Barbara) Gesmond, sisters and brothers in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy for six years. Following his honorable discharge from the service he went on to enjoy a 27-year career as a firefighter for the city of Pittsburgh.
In his free time, Jim enjoyed golfing and trips to the beach. He was a dedicated family man who was always there to cheer his children on and enjoyed serving as the coach for their basketball, baseball and hockey teams. Jim also adored his furry companions, Chica, Sparkles, and Mr. B. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a memorial visitation from 3:00 - 6:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
