James Barrett's Obituary
James Barrett Jr., 85, of Youngsville, PA, passed away peacefully at the Rouse Home on Sunday, January 1, 2023.
James was born in Homestead, PA on August 13,1937 to the late James Barrett and Genevieve (Gessner) Hubert. Upon graduation from Boone High School in Florida, James served as a Seabee Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. After his service, he settled in West Mifflin, PA and went to work for Duquesne Light Company. He retired from the light company after 38 years as a construction supervisor. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in West Mifflin, PA.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth and sons James P. (Meg) Barrett of Wallingford, PA and Michael P. (Melanie) Barrett of Warren, PA and grandchildren James W. Barrett, Nicholas (Ashley) Barrett, Samuel (Jaclyn) Barrett, Kassandra (Michael) Sperdute, Jaclyn (Nathan) Rosenberg and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home at 301 Curry Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 on Friday, January 6th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 7th at 10:00 am Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish worship sit St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church 1 Grove Place Pittsburgh PA 15236.
