Jack H. Fleming's Obituary
Jack H. Fleming went home on September 18, 2021. He fought his final battle with the same fiery spirit that blazed throughout his life.
He was a proud American with an abiding love of liberty, and was among the first to fight in Vietnam when he went to war for his country in 1965 as part of the famed 173rd Airborne Brigade.
He was a proud Pittsburgher all his life until his final breath. He grew up watching Roberto Clemente rounding the bases at Forbes Field and later enjoyed taking his kids to watch Dan Marino leading the Panthers in Oakland and Blitzburgh terrorizing NFL quarterbacks.
Throughout his life, he excelled at all he did, whether he was carrying the football in high school, putting himself through college, helping to build the IT infrastructure at PPG where he achieved the position of IT Director, raising his family and chasing after his grandkids.
Never shy to share his opinion, he filled any room he was in with his exuberant personality, driving humor, and keen insights.
Jack is survived by the love of his life of 54 years, Helen; his three children Scott (Susan), Todd (Kimberly), and Erin (Kevin Harrigan); his eight beloved granddaughters; Hannah, Rachel, Madison, Abigail, Meredith, Lydia, Allison, and Audrey. They were his pride and joy.
