Michael Shea, age 75, of Meadville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 2, 2024. Michael is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Shea; brother, James (Peggy) Shea; and two nephews, Michael and Sam (Bethany). Michael gradu Read Obituary
He was my basketball coach we made it to Penn State many times and had great memories and he was also one of my floor hockey coaches and coach to some other sports I played .
Basketball was one of the sports that he always made fun and a good time for me and my team he allways made speicaly oylmpics sports a good time . And I always talked to u at BK and u always stoped and said hi when u seen me siting in the park
I taught with Mike for many years. My husband knew him through wrestling. Mike really cared about his students and athletes. He shared many stories about his family also. He passed on his mother's recipe for Irish Soda Bread to me. He always rembered her serving it warm with lots of butter.
In retirement I would bump into Mike at musical events. RIP.
Mike was a good friend for many years. For my son Sean and I, the wrestling circuit was always a great time with him. He was a great guy.
Sorry to hear of Michael’s passing. Always seemed to run into him and Mary Ellen at the Irish festival enjoying the music and the atmosphere.
I worked and coached with Mike and it seems we were friends forever. Whenever an extra set of hands were needed for a project he was there.
Through his teaching, coaching and community activities the number of people he impacted in a positive way would be hard to measure.
He will be greatly missed.

What an amazing man. His heart was so full of love for the Special Olympics athletes. His kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.

I knew Mike as a teacher and member of the band Highway 49. He was always fun and entertaining.
Coach Shea was a great wrestling coach who pushed me become the person I am today. A few years ago he reached out to me and wanted to apologize for being so hard on me as a coach. I told him nothing could have been further from the truth and I was grateful for all he did for me. He stood beside me through many challenges. The work ethic and discipline I learned from him changed my life and helped me to go on and do things I never thought I could do. Thank you coach and rest in peace.
I worked with Michael for many years at Penncrest School District and Crawford County Special Olympics. He was an amazing
teacher and coach. He even represented us at International Special Olympics. I admired him and considered him a good friend.He was a good man and his memory will remain with me always. My sincere sympathy to the family.
I am saddened to learn of Mike’s passing. He and I taught together at C.S.E.S. and continued to touch base with one another after his retirement. He was a good teacher and friend.
I know he cared deeply about his family and was committed to performing on his guitar with a few groups of friends. I remember he was also committed to coaching with Special Olympics. I know he made a positive difference to many participants.
