Irene Blasco's Obituary
With her loving family in prayer at her bedside, Irene Blasco, 90, passed away August 15, 2025, in Palm Coast, FL. She was born on October 27, 1934, in New York City, NY, to the late John and Catherine Zoller and grew up in Glassport, PA. She raised her family with her beloved husband, James, in Pleasant Hills, PA, which she called home. The couple shared 67 cherished years together.
Early in her career she worked at McKeesport Hospital as a bookkeeper. While raising three children, Irene focused on her family, but would later use her talents for many years working in an optometrist's office. She was an excellent cook, an accomplished baker and also enjoyed creative pursuits such as sewing, decorating and exercising.
Irene was the person you could count on. Her journey on this earth was one marked with love, compassion and kindness. She was accepting of all those in her life and quick to lend a hand or offer comfort for those in need. Her positive outlook on life and her outgoing personality earned her the respect of many friends over the years.
She also will be remembered as a loving mother to James (Marsha) Blasco, Joan (James) Paul, and Joseph (Holli) Blasco and a devoted grandmother to Lauren Blasco, Johnathan and David Paul, and Graci, Luci, and Grant Blasco.
She was preceded in death by husband James Blasco, parents Catherine and John Zoller, and sister Gloria Vukic.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation September 5, 2025, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh PA, 15236, which will be folled by a blessing service at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
