Henry F. Schwartz "Henny"'s Obituary
Henry F. Schwartz, 84, was born to Henry and Josephine (McKee) Schwartz in Pittsburgh, PA on September 5,1940 and passed on December 8, 2024. After graduation from Baldwin High School, Henry joined the United States Air Force and proudly served for 22 years. He and his family lived in France, Indiana, Virginia and South Carolina during his service. After the Air Force, Henry returned to Pittsburgh where he worked for several more years before retiring.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents, wife Marcelle, brothers Robert and Frederick, brothers-in-law Tim McKay and Steve Miller. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Ruth, who took loving care of him in his final years, his son George of Lakeland, TN, daughters Patricia (Robert) King of Oviedo, FL, and Angela (Scott) Scanlon of Pittsburgh, PA, stepson Charles Bombich of Pittsburgh, PA, granddaughters Kassidy Dorough, Brooke Scanlon and Alayna Scanlon, sisters Joanne McKay and Linda Miller, both of Virginia, brother Ronald (Debbie) of Greensburg, PA, sister-in-law Carol Schwartz of Clinton, PA, as well as cousins, nephews and nieces.
Henry was an avid reader and often verbal sports fan (in particular, the Steelers and Nascar). He enjoyed cooking, playing cards and instant lottery tickets and was fond of animals. Henry will be remembered for many delicious meals, his beautiful eyes, great sense of humor, cheerful personality, and eternal positive attitude.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to AHN hospice nurse, Michelle, and nurse aid, Sherry, for their kindness and care the last six months.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, 12/12/24 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, 12/13/24 at 10 a.m. in the chapel.
