Helen Kay (Wells) Ball's Obituary
Helen Kay (Wells) Ball Age 86 of Mobile, Alabama, (formerly of Pleasant Hills, PA), passed away peacefully, at home on April 20, 2021.
Beloved Wife of 65 years to Truman Wayne (Micky) Ball ;
Mother of James K. Ball (Karen) of Mobile, Alabama and Stephen Wayne Ball (deceased) (Heather).
Grandmother of James Houston Ball of Austin, Texas, Justin Lee Ball of New Braunfels, Texas, Braden Wells Ball and Olivia Annon Ball of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania;
Great grandmother of Remi Lee Ball of Mobile, Alabama;
Sister of James Homer Wells and Verna Rae Griffin who both preceded her in death;
Daughter of James Wallace Wells and Edith (Edgell) Wells.
Kay was active in the Pleasant Hills Garden Club and participated in many beautification projects in the community. She was president of that club for some terms and worked on many fund raisers and Community Day activities. She was a skilled seamstress and worked at the White Orchid bridal shop for many years. Kay was an avid quilter. Her beautiful quilts are gifted to many family members and lend comfort and warmth. Kay also made baby quilts for family and friends to comfort the little ones. She also shared her gifts by making quilts for wounded veterans returning from the wars in the Middle East and helping spread Jesus’s love with church missions to Haiti and Costa Rica.
A memorial service to honor Kay’s life and memory will be held on Monday May 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church, 199 Old Clairton Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
