Helen A. Graziani's Obituary
Helen A Graziani, age 96, of Bethel Park, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully at her residence at Fair Oaks of Pittsburgh, on Friday, February 1, 2019. Devoted wife of 40 years to Richard A. Graziani, who proceeded her in death in 1987. Mother of Kenneth Richard Graziani and Judith Ann Cataneo (Graziani). Grandmother of Michael Kenneth Graziani, Elisabeth Marie Doyle(Graziani) Joseph Anthony Cataneo, Cara Mia Brokaw (Cataneo) , Jessi Anne Scheib (Cataneo). Great-grandmother of Madeline Elisabeth Graziani, Joseph Edward Doyle III, Erinn Elisabeth Doyle, Hannah Jo Cataneo, Levi Anthony Cataneo, Elliot James Scheib, Evelyn Rose Brokaw, and Elias Anthony Brokaw. Daughter to the late Michael and Catherine Szott. Helen sacrificed in her early life leaving school to work so her siblings could finish high school. During World War II, she was a true "Rosie the Riveter" building landing craft and ships in Pittsburgh. After the war, she met the love of her life, Richard, and was a devoted wife and mother. She worked at the Bethel Park High School cafeteria and was noted by the students for her delicious rolls. The neighborhood children loved her exceptional chocolate chip cookies, fudge brownies and homemade apple pies made from nearby orchard apples. Later in life, she again cared for her siblings as they struggled with illness. She always wanted to be reunited with her husband, Richard, and it brings her family peace knowing she is finally reunited with her true love. Family will receive family and friends on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 9 am at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 am in the funeral home's chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made "In the Memory of Helen Graziani" to Fair Oaks of Pittsburgh, 2200 West Liberty Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15226 or Jesus Fellowship Church, 6151 Brush Run Rd., Bethel Park, PA 15102.
