Heather Marie Stark's Obituary
Heather Hebda Stark, 39, of Jefferson Hills, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 30, 2022. Born on March 1, 1983, in Pittsburgh, PA, Heather was the beloved daughter of Jim and Fortune (Sargo) Hebda. Heather studied at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania where she received her Bachelor of the Arts Degree in Dance with minor courses in Arts Administration in 2005.
Throughout her career, Heather had danced professionally with Manassas Ballet Theatre in Manassas, Virginia and served as Executive Assistant for Manassas Ballet Theatre and Manassas Ballet Academy. Her dance training included Point Park College, La Roche College, Ballet Met, Ballet Austin, Chautauqua Institution and summers performing with The New York City Ballet in Saratoga Springs, NY. Heather had taught and choreographed dance at Spacecoast Ballet, The Dance Zone and King Street Dance in Florida, Manassas Ballet Academy in Virginia, and Shade Sisters Dance Studio in Pittsburgh. In the fall of 2017, Heather built her own business from the ground up officially opening South Hills Dance Academy.
Heather was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports. She was a very active person, who liked to stay busy whether it be shopping or decorating and remodeling her home or the homes of her friends and family. Most of all, she found her greatest joys in life throughout the time spent with her family, especially her children. She was a wonderful mother who always put her family first. She was especially a devoted and protective mother bear who never settled for anything but the best for her children. Heather will be remembered by those who knew her for her kind heart and thoughtful personality.
Heather was predeceased by her aunt, Michele Sargo; her grandparents and many beloved extended family members. Heather is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Stark, and their children, Cameron, Brayden and Avery; her parents, Jim and Fortune Hebda; her sister, Michele F. Hebda; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Judy Stark; brother-in-law, Lee Stark and his fiancée, Megan; godfather and uncle, Lenny Sargo; uncle and aunt, Tony Sargo and M.A. Sargo; and her grandmother-in-law, Ruth Ford.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 6-8 pm and Friday, November 4, 2022, from 1-3 and 5-8 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 1 Grove Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
