Gregory W. Waggett Sr.'s Obituary
Gregory Warren Waggett Sr, aged 65, of West Mifflin, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025. Greg was born on January 26th, 1959, in Laurel, Maryland, to the late Warren and Henrietta Waggett. He is survived by the love of his wife Lisa Waggett and his son, Greg Jr. (Kelli), along with his loved grandpups Lily, Lucy and Rea. He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Kaitlyn Waggett. Greg was the loving brother to Cindy Lipinski, Donna (Glenn) Mahoney, and Barbara Szarmach.
Greg's father, Warren, was in the Navy. Growing up, no one place was home for too long, as the Navy required Greg's family to travel and live at places such as Japan, and Turkey. Greg was a young child while spending time in Japan, but the experience left a lasting impression that allowed stories to be told for the remainder of his life. Stories of wandering Japan with his sister Cindy and getting into all sorts of mischief.
Greg married the love of his life, Lisa, on May 30th, 1987 in Pittsburgh, PA. Together, they had two children, Greg and Katie. They had a wonderful life together. Truly, while ups and downs, the amount of love that his wife and children have for him is immeasurable. Greg was chosen to be the best man at his sons' wedding, and that stretch to marriage with Greg Jr's Dad by his side are some of the best memories he could ever ask for. Greg Jr. has wonderful friends but has always seen his father as his very best friend. The two of them really enjoyed fishing together, and picked up that hobby together from the time Greg Jr. was young. Getting up early in the morning and heading to the river was something the two of them did many times, as well as canoe trips and boat fishing trips out on the Lake.
Greg will be sincerely missed by his friends and close family.
Greg's funeral viewing will be held this Tuesday, January 14th, 2025 at Jefferson memorial Funeral Home (301 Curry Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh PA 15236) from 4:00pm - 7:00pm.
His funeral service will be at the funeral home chapel at 12:00pm on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025.
