Gregory "Chip" Chiprich's Obituary
Gregory "Chip" Chiprich, 73, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 15, 1953, in Charleroi, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret Kovalsky Chiprich.
Chip spent his childhood in Donora, PA, and Trenton, NJ. Following his graduation from Ringgold High School, he built a successful career in finance working as a salesman. In recent years, he found joy in remodeling houses, pursuing his passion for collecting and fixing cars, and cherishing moments at the family cabin in Maryland-a sanctuary where laughter echoed and memories were made.
Chip's love for his children-Joshua, Jennifer, and Christopher-as well as his grandchildren, illuminated his life. His unwavering positive attitude and ability to find joy in everyday moments served as an inspiration to those around him. Chip leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, which will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.
Chip is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Lorraine Frederick Chiprich; children, Joshua (Pam) Chiprich, Jennifer (Dan) Ogrosky, and Christopher (Lyndsay) Chiprich; cherished grandchildren, Jordan Chiprich, Rhyan Ogrosky, Jackson Chiprich, Alexis Ogrosky, Chloe Chiprich, Maggie Chriprich, Daniel Ogrosky, and Brooklyn Chiprich; brothers, Frank (Eileen) Chiprich and Gerald (Carol) Chiprich; as well as many extended family members and friends whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, Chip was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Andy and Anna Kovalsky.
Friends and family are welcome for visitation on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh, PA, 15236. A blessing service will follow at 4:00 PM in the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Guests are encouraged to wear bright colors, as it was Chip's wish that we gather in celebration.
