Geraldine F. Evans (Fest)'s Obituary
Geraldine F. Evans, 97, formerly of South Park, died October 15, 2017 at Jameson Care Center, New Castle. Born February 7, 1920, she was a daughter of August and Elizabeth Fest. She married Walter S. Evans in August 1943 and he preceded her in death. She was a '42 graduate of Carnegie Tech and earned a Bachelors degree in Home Economics. She worked as a home demonstrator of appliances and was an accomplished seamstress. She crafted vestments for priests, and at age 80 made her granddaughter's wedding gown. She is survived by her son, David (Jan) of New Castle, her daughter-in-law, Terri Evans in Naples, FL.; four grandchildren Heather (Chad) Krehlik of Latrobe, Michael (Winona) Evans of Madison, WI, Jason (Joy) Evans of Cornelius, NC, and Matthew (Lauren) Evans of Mars, PA; 7 great-grandchildren, Maya Darlene and Ava Grace Krehlik, Grace Abigail Evans, Aiden Michael and Sophie Grace Evans, and Elizabeth Josephine and Olivia Geraldine Evans; 9 nieces and nephews; and her god-daughter, Betty Cerceo. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rita Whitaker and her son, Scott A. Evans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 28, 1 PM, at St. Joan of Arc Parish, South Park, with Fr. Pribonik officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
