Gerald "Jerry" McFeely's Obituary
Gerald "Jerry" McFeely, 93, of South Park, PA, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Monongahela, PA, he was the son of the late George and Vera McFeely.
Jerry lived a life defined by service, curiosity, and devotion. As a young man, he was active in the Boy Scouts, earning the rank of Eagle Scout and later serving as a troop leader. At Monongahela High School, he excelled as a talented football player. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving proudly for 10 years during the Korean War era. While stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, he met the love of his life, Patricia Corneil, whom he married before returning to Pennsylvania to build their life together.
For three decades, Jerry dedicated himself to education as a public-school teacher in the Baldwin School District, where he taught Math, Science, and Chemistry at both the middle and high school levels. His passion for learning extended far beyond the classroom. He was a man of many interests-painting, tending his home garden, and singing. He was in a barber shop quartet in high school and sang in the choir at church for over 50 years. Until recently, he sang at Peter's Creek Baptist Church for 20 years. His faith was central to who he was, guiding him with humility and purpose.
Above all, Jerry was a family man. He was a devoted husband to Patricia for 66 years, always striving to bring joy to her life. Together, they cherished trips to Lancaster and evenings spent enjoying plays. He adored his children and grandchildren, treasuring every moment spent making memories with them. His gentle spirit, steady presence, and unwavering love will be deeply missed.
Jerry is survived by his loving children Ken McFeely, Bonnie (Rich) McFeely, David (Anh) McFeely, and Greg McFeely; his cherished grandchildren Tiffani (Shawn) Solman, Ashley Solman, Caitlin (Christopher) Murin, Emily McFeely, and Isabel McFeely; and his beloved great-grandchildren Shawn and Jackson Ervin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Patricia J. McFeely; his children Cheri and Danny McFeely; his parents; and his siblings Donald (Pat) McFeely and Mary Jane (Chip) Radosh.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 30th at Peters Creek Baptist Church, 6300 Library Rd, South Park Township, PA 15129.
Interment will be taken care of by Jefferson Memorial Park.
