Georgiann was the beloved wife of Donald C. Gettings and the loving mother of Charles (Monica) Gettings, Laurie (Daniel Sterlitz) Dilla, and Jamie Gettings Duke. The joy of being a grandmother was a role that she cherished, and she was blessed with six grandchildren, Cara Gettings, Chad Gettings, Rebecca (Bill) Gettings, James Thomas, Jackson Duke, and Nicholas Duke. Her love and guidance extended to her great-grandchildren, Akira Thomas and Lucas McLaughlin. Georgiann was also the beloved sister of the late Dorothy (Robert) Rainey, Carol (Jack) Marshall, and James (Jean) Roney. The bonds of family were strong for Georgiann, and her loved ones will forever remember her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support.
Education played a significant role in Georgiann's life, and her pursuit of knowledge culminated in her graduation from CCAC Nursing School in 1981. With the heart of a servant and the mind of a scholar, Georgiann dedicated her life to the nursing profession.
