George M. Gesser's Obituary
George M. Gesser passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Elizabeth, PA. Born on November 26, 1949, in Altoona, PA, George was a man known for his meticulous nature, caring heart, and infectious sense of humor.
A patriot at heart, George dedicated himself to serving the country he loved as a member of the US Marine Corps. His commitment to service continued in his professional life as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), where he cared for others with precision and compassion for 44 years. Also, George touched the lives of many children and their families as a school bus driver for five years.
George was a man encompassed by life's beauty and elegance, whether riding his motorcycle, exploring the thrills of amusement parks, or getting involved in building and construction projects. He was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan who always looked forward to the games.
George leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Jule Gesser; his daughter, Crystal Gesser, and her fiancé Kurt Mancine; and his cherished granddaughter, Lilly Mancine. He will also be fondly remembered by his cousins Olivia Rossi, Bob and Billy Harkins, and Tony DiGirolamo Jr.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Antoinette Gesser, his uncle’s Tony, James, and Carmen DiGirolamo, and his godfather, Henry DiGirolamo.
His love for his family was unparalleled, and those who knew George will forever remember him as a loving and funny man who could light up any room. George's spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, as he did throughout his remarkable life.
Family and friends are welcome to George's viewings from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A funeral service will be held 6:00 PM, following the viewing.
