Gayle D Moore's Obituary
Age 83, of Baldwin, peacefully passed away in her home surrounded by her family on September 27, 2022.
Born on September 18, 1939, in Finleyville, Pennsylvania, USA, she was the daughter of the late Harry Sessi and the late Margaret Mercedes (Entinger). Gayle is the longest surviving of her siblings, Harriet Mae Felicione, Audrey Elaine Sessi, Geraldine Mercedes Metz, William Arthur Sessi, Donald Harry Sessi and Jocelyn Grace Strong. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Sylvan (Max) Moore and her son, Harry (Butch) Moore. Gayle is survived by her children, Cheryl Kaecher, Lynda Grimes (Mark) and Angela Malloy (Michael). She also has four beautiful grandchildren, April, Amber, Brynn and Cooper. Gayle is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was very good with numbers spending much of her life as a bookkeeper for various companies. She was a cowgirl at heart enjoying classic country music and she very much enjoyed being in the presence of animals. She was endlessly supportive of her children, following them through collective decades of sports, Girl Scouts and equine competitions, she loved her Pittsburgh Steelers, particularly Franco Harris, and was an outstanding cook. Her home was always filled with her children and their friends.
Gayle was a member of the Baldwin High School class of 1957. She had a deep appreciation for her alma mater and spent much of her retirement actively planning class reunions through 57 years. She continued to watch her grandchildren play sports and was known to have a care package with a home cooked meal ready for you to take with you when you'd visit.
Friends and family will be received Saturday October 1st and Sunday October 2nd from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Services will be held Monday October 3rd at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
