Gary Bruce Reith's Obituary
Gary Bruce Reith, 68, of Pittsburgh, PA died Saturday, November 20, 2021, following a sudden illness.
Born April 17, 1953, he was the son of William and Ruth Reith and brother to David Reith. He grew up in Pleasant Hills, playing baseball and learning to play guitar. He dedicated many years to the United States Merchant Marines, where he was a Master Carpenter - something he took great pride in.
After retiring, he spent his free time doing the hobbies he had always enjoyed. He had a great passion for music and a vast knowledge for the classic rock genre. He regularly enjoyed attending the movies and watching a wide range of television shows. He had a love of animals and all Pittsburgh sports teams, particularly the Steelers. He always found time to hit a couple golf balls around whenever he had a spare moment. He will be remembered for his silly demeanor, undeniable style and opinionated nature.
Gary was predeceased by his father, William. He leaves behind his mother, Ruth (nee Ivory), and his beloved brother, David (Lucy). Additionally, he leaves behind his nephew, Eric, and niece, Leah.
Family and friends are welcomed on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 5 to 7 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills.
