Gary Michael Orosz's Obituary
Gary Michael Orosz of Whitaker, age 66, took his last breath on this earth at home surrounded by his family on August 1, 2023. He was the son of the late Michael and Margaret Orosz of West Mifflin. Gary graduated from West Mifflin North High School in 1974. That is where he met the love of his life and wife of 45 years, Lynn (Watson). Gary was the father of two children Samantha Slate (Michael) and Michael Orosz (Lauren). The proudest title Gary had was Pappy. He was the proud pappy of Lincoln, Lena, and Rhett. Gary is also survived by his sister Darlene Schaming (Jack) of Jeannette as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
He worked from the moment he could to provide the best life for his family. He retired after a long career at Miller Thomas Gyekis roofing company working as a Teamster. Strong is the word that best describes Gary. He was strong in his love and devotion to his family, he was strong in his passion for fishing and hunting (especially with his dogs Max, Rex and Blitz), he was strong in his support for the causes he believed in, and he was strong in his fight until the very end. Gary was an avid Steelers and Pens fan but there was nothing that he loved more than watching his kids play sports. And more recently his grand babies always brought a smile to his face.
He will be missed by loving friends and family all around. Gary’s family would like to thank his Family Hospice team for their support and compassionate care.
Viewing will be held for all on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236, and a funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Alzheimer's Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter 2835 E Carson St Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15203 https://www.alz.org/pa
