Gary Cummings' Obituary
Gary Thomas Cummings, age 66, of Venetia, beloved husband of Lisa B. (Ossowski) passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home. Gary was born on March 27, 1959, the son of the late William J. and Claire M. (Bornscheuer) Cummings.
Gary is well-known for his unwavering faith in Christ. He cherished time spent with his beloved wife of 36 years, and was a loving father to daughters Cara (Jared) Connor and Elizabeth (fiancé, Ryan Lytle) Cummings. Gary also leaves siblings, Jim, Bill (Annie), Robyn (the late, Nick) Coxon, Dennis (Theresa) and Dave (Elizabeth) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Gary grew up in Baldwin graduating from Baldwin High School with the class of 1977. He had a successful and lengthy career as a Senior Network Engineer in Information Technology. Including FORE Systems/Marconi; PNC Bank; National Energy Technology Laboratories (NETL); BYN Mellon Bank; Williams Energy; ZT Technology Solutions and most recently as a Senior Networking Consultant with Triumph Group.
Outside of his professional life, Gary was a true outdoorsman enjoying everything from boating, kayaking, hiking and an avid cyclist. Known as a jokester, delighted friends and family with his magic tricks. He lit up the room with his personality ensuring whenever you were with him it would be a good time.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Cummings.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A service in honor of Gary will be held in the chapel at the funeral home on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Burial will be held privately.
