Franklin J. "Sparky" Enos' Obituary
Franklin J. “Sparky” Enos of South Park, died on April 27, 2020, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Canonsburg, PA on May 30, 1946, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Enos.
The love of his life was his wife, Kathleen (Broglie) for 51 years, who survives.
He was the beloved father of Brent (Kristen) and Brandon (Gina); loving pap to Ryan (Heather) Enos, Victoria Cuchinelli, Valentina, Ava Leigh and Marcelina; cherished brother of Joseph (Maureen) Enos and Imogene Link, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Franklin graduated in 1964 from Snowden Twp. High School and attended Robert Morris Junior College. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1967 and served his country until 1971. He was stationed in Vietnam from 1967-1968. He was a machine gun team leader with Kilo Co. 3rd BN 3rd Marine Division receiving three purple hearts.
In 1967 he earned the title of Marine; a few years later he earned another title, that of father. His hope was when he is gone, he would be remembered as a good Dad. He was a son, brother, Marine and father.
Sparky was a retired postmaster with 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Mon Valley Leatherneck Assoc., Pleasant Hills, American Legion Post #712, Broughton VFW Post #1940, a life member of Disabled American Veterans and the Vietnam Veterans Inc, and Nativity Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Franklin’s name may be made to Veterans Inc, PO Box 97765, Pgh., PA 15227.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Military services at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be announced at a later date.
