Frank R. Lee, Jr.'s Obituary
Age 91, on May 25, 2018. Husband for more than 50 years of the late Lois Anne "Susie" (Black) Lee; father of Robert R. (Donna Jean) Lee and Susan E. (Joel) Fishbaine; also survived by 7 grandchildren, Robert R. (Leanna) Lee, Jr., John F. (Jen) Lee, Lauren Lee and Meagan Lee (Ryan Jamison), Joshua F. (Courtney) Kichta and Heather M. (Chad) Massie, and Dylan Fishbaine; 5 great-grandchildren, Daijah and Chad Massie, Liam and Elijah Kichta, and Aiden Robert Lee. Mr. Lee was a WWII veteran with the US Army, serving in the Phillipine Liberation. He earned a B.S.E.E. degree from Carnegie Institute of Technology in June 1949. He was employed by the US Bureau of Mines and the Mine Safety and Health Administration for 34 years investigating and testing the safety of electrically powered mining machinery and other electrical equipment to reduce the risks of fires and explosions in underground coal mines. He was a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and a member of several mining technical societies. Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 29, and Wednesday, May 30, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Blessing Service will be held on Thursday, May 31, at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrimage Hospice (2695 Winchester Drive Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15220) or the Stewart Avenue Evangelical Lutheran Church (2810 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227).
