Franco Moscatiello's Obituary
Franco was born on April 18, 1939, in Southern Italy. He emigrated to the United States in 1958. Starting as a cement finisher, he built two construction companies, Moscatiello Construction and Siandra, Inc.. In his retirement he started ASA Self Storage, the company he ran, working from the hospital up until his last day.
He enjoyed playing Scopa with his friends over coffee at La Prima Espresso or, when he was still in construction, lunch at Louis Tambellini's on Route 51, where he celebrated his 60th birthday. He greeted everyone, no matter how old, with a "How do you do, young lady or young man".
He loved bocci, making wine, Neapolitan folk songs and, above all else, his family: Antonietta, his wife, his son, Anthony, his daughters, Silvana (Sean) and Adriana (Fred), and his Grandchildren, Serena, John, Nathan and Domenic. His favorite place would be sitting at the head of the table, surrounded by his family, sipping a glass of his homemade wine and watching over his family.
He is predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Assunta, his in-laws, Carmine and Michelina Calandrella, his siblings, Rocco (Maria), Benito, and Italia, and his brother-in-law, Mario.
In addition to his immediate family above, Franco will be missed by his sisters-in-law, Rosana (Emilio), Maria (Giovanno), Lauretta (Gary), Giuseppina (Chuck), Concetta, and many nieces, nephews and countless friends, here and in Italy.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 3:00pm-8:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA 15236.
