Eva Helen Chojnicki's Obituary
Eva Helen Chojnicki, 91, of Gainsville, FL, passed away on March 21, 2023.
Eva is survived by her son, Eric W.T. Chojnicki, Ph.D and his wife Estelle Chojnicki and their four children, Johanna Eva, Walter Samuel, Willem Arthur, and Wolfgang Otto Chojnicki and her son-in-law, Fred W. Mitsch, Jr. and his children, Connor Thomas and Henry Walter Mitsch.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Chojnicki, daughter, Elaine S. (Chojnicki) Mitsch, parents, George and Rose (Lackney) Simko, and siblings, Eleanor (Simko) Bogovich, Mildred (Simko) Novosel, Agnes (Simko) Venzin, George Simko, and Edward Simko.
Eva was born and raised in West Mifflin, just outside of Pittsburgh and was devoutly religious. She was an avid swimmer in her earlier years and enjoyed long walks throughout her life. She graduated from Munhall High school in 1950. After graduation, she married Walter and became a loving wife and mother to her children and beloved aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She loved cooking for her family very much and having holiday parties for the family. She was very intelligent and sharp all her life and was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles in her free time. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Friends and family will be received Monday, March 27, 2023, from 2-4 pm and from 6-9 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish, St. Therese Church Worship Site, 1 Saint Therese Court, Munhall, PA 15120.
