Ethel Kotrady's Obituary
Ethel S. Kotrady, age 89, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Ethel was born on April 22, 1935, in Duquesne, the daughter of the late Michael and Sophia (Petrisko) Kotrady.
Ethel is survived by her brother, Bernard Kotrady and his wife, Kathy; her brother-in-law, Charles Lloyd; her nephew, great nieces, and great-great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Lloyd.
Ethel graduated in the top 5 of her class from Duquesne High School in 1953. She went on to enjoy a long career with Westinghouse in the atomic power division. Although having many accomplishments throughout her career she was most proud to have worked on the project of the USS Nautilus.
In her free time, Ethel was an avid reader and a history buff, especially enjoying learning about the Civil War, the Korean War and JFK.
Services and burial have been entrusted to Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and will be held privately. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Ethel may be made to Heartland Hospice.
