Esther Mae (Schramm)
Esther Mae (Schramm) Quel, 89, of Pittsburgh, entered into eternal rest on January 1, 2018.
Esther is survived by her beloved Husband of 71 years, Franklin Quel. Loving Mother of Franklin (Catherine) Quel, Jr., Kathleen (Don) Myers and Cynthia (Daniel) Kavanaugh. Cherished Mum Mum of Brandon (Susan) Myers, Sean (Amy) Myers, Daniel Kavanaugh, Jr., Tara (Derrick) Kavanaugh Smith, Bailey Kavanaugh. Great-Mum Mum of Alexander, Mackenzie, Elizabeth, Abigail, Kylie, Scarlette and Kristofer. Mum Mum of her beloved furbabies; Rowdy, Max and Peanut. Sister of Audrey (Richard) Nelson and Sister In-Law Patricia (the late Joseph) Schramm; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents Joseph and Lillian (Hite) Schramm, her Sister, Ruth (Vincent) Falvo and her Brother, Joseph Schramm.
Esther was absolutely devoted to her family opening her home as a gathering place and she excelled at being a caregiver. She loved keeping her hands busy with crocheting and has made countless afghans, hats and scarves for family members and those in need. Esther was a faithful and longtime member of North Zion Lutheran Church in Baldwin and President of the Seton Senior Center for many years.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday 2 pm - 4 pm & 6 pm - 8 pm at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Funeral Ceremony will be held Friday at 1 pm in the funeral homes chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1100 Liberty Ave, Ste E 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or North Zion Lutheran Church, 5100 Brownsville Rd. 15236.
