I’m so sad to learn of Ernie’s death only now, eight years later. She was a significant influence when I was living near her in Whitehall.
I was an avid tennis player when she began to play in the 1970s. So many memories of her whether on the tennis court or listening to Neil Diamond’s music. I think of her so often and always remember her on St Francis Day, her birthday.
May the cross rise up to meet you
The sun was always at her back….

I just read about Mrs. Steele in the Almanac. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She was my student teacher at St. Bernard back in 2001. She taught me so much about teaching and life. She will always hold a special place in my heart.
