Emily Watson's Obituary
Emily Watson, a vibrant spirit and cherished soul, was taken from us too soon on November 29, 2023, at the age of 29. Born on September 17, 1994, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Emily's life was a testament to her passion for creativity, her dedication to helping others, and her unwavering love for her family and beloved pets.
Emily was the beloved daughter of Judy Watson, and she grew up surrounded by a close-knit family that included her aunts Kathy (Barry) Henevich and Mary Beth (JoAnn) Watson, and her cousins Jacob and Hannah. She carried the memory of her late grandparents, Mary Jean and Robert Watson. She also leaves behind her adored feline companions, Zucchini and Tomato, as well as countless friends.
A proud graduate of Point Park University, Emily earned her Bachelor's degree in English and creative writing in 2017. Her academic achievements laid the foundation for her professional journey at UPMC Presbyterian, where she began her career and eventually became a Transport Department Supervisor. Emily's career was marked by her relentless work ethic and her natural leadership, which earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Emily was a certified CPR instructor at UPMC Presbyterian, where she shared her knowledge and skills to empower others to save lives. Her ability to teach and inspire was just one of the many ways she made a lasting impact on those around her.
Emily's talents extended beyond her professional life; she was a very skilled writer who was in the process of authoring a book. Her love for storytelling and her creative spirit were evident in her writing, which was as imaginative as it was expressive.
A voracious reader, Emily found solace and excitement in the pages of fantasy books. She was an avid fan of series like Harry Potter and The Hunger Games, and at the time of her passing, she was delving into the rich world of Game of Thrones. Her love for literature was a cherished escape and a source of endless joy.
Her commitment to personal well-being was exemplified by her daily visits to the gym, where she not only maintained her physical health but also found a community of fellow fitness enthusiasts. Emily's love for the outdoors and nature's beauty was evident in her frequent drives to Presque Isle, where she would watch the sunsets and reflect. She would always be sure to photograph the sunsets and share them with those she loved.
Emily's affection for her cats, affectionately known as The Veggie Kitties, was a reflection of her kind and nurturing spirit. The time she spent with them was filled with love, laughter, and the simple pleasures of companionship.
Emily's life was a beautiful mosaic of dedication, creativity, and love. Her absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her memory will continue to inspire and guide us. She lived her life with purpose and left an indelible mark on the world through her kindness, her passion, and her unwavering commitment to making a difference.
