What a special friend and Theta sister, Betsy Horn Spencer was.
When Betsy and I were assigned to student teaching in Pittsburgh, her parents, Mr and Mrs Horn, exhibited such warm hospitality to me. I was a student teacher at Baldwin High School in American History with large classes of Juniors. Betsy and I spent many weeks planning lessons, grading papers and occasionally chaperoning school dances. Mrs. Horn arranged for me to live with one of her friends during the winter quarter.
Bests was bright, fun, thoughtful and a delightful friend. She will be missed in our Theta Class of '63.

Mrs. Spencer always had a warm and cheerful presence whenever I visited the Pleasant Hills Library as a teen. I truly enjoyed her company and am grateful she was blessed with 84 meaningful years.
