Elizabeth Jean Barrett's Obituary
Elizabeth Jean (Betty) Barrett, 87, of Youngsville, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12th at The Suites at Rouse. Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she touched the lives of everyone who know her with kindness, grace and unwavering love.
Born on March 1, 1937 in Homestead, PA, Betty lived a life full of love and dedication to her family and was a ray of sunshine to everyone who knew her. She was a devoted mother to her sons James and Michael (Melanie), and her pride and joy were her grandchildren Jim Barrett (Coleen McGillan), Nick (Ashley) Barrett, Sam (Jackie) Barrett, Kasey (Mike) Sperdute and Jackie (Nate) Rosenberg, and great-grandchildren Ethan and Jake Sperdute, and Annabelle Rosenberg, who brought immense happiness to her life.
She was well known for her remarkable baking skills and her cookies were enjoyed by all who were lucky enough to experience them. She also loved to craft and made many special treasures that she shared with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband James on January 1, 2023 and daughter-in-law Margaret on February 8, 2023.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, September 20th from 10 A.M. until 12 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
A Blessing Service will be held immediately following visitation on September 20th at 12 P.M. in the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to The Suites at Rouse at www.rouse.org in her honor.
She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in our hearts. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched and the beautiful moments she shared with us all.
