Eleanor J. Scheidl's Obituary
Eleanor Jean Scheidl, 97, of Port Orange, Florida, a cherished individual known for her kind, loving, caring and humorous personality, left us on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Eleanor was born on April 3, 1927 to George Sr. and Florence Kuech in New Castle, PA. She grew up in Pittsburgh, PA with her parents and 2 brothers George Jr. and Robert.
Eleanor immediately lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. She had a joyful presence about her. She loved her friends and family, and filled her home with warmth and kindness. She was very active in her church; she sang in a community choral group, she played the piano and organ and enjoyed all kinds of music that spanned from the big band era to christian.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Scheidl of 50 years, her brothers, George Jr (Eddy) and Robert (Rose). She is survived by her children: Lorell Castellano and David (Donna) Scheidl, her grandchildren: David Earl Scheidl, Darcy Meredith, Jimmi (Jina) Rehman and Heather (Chris) Davies and 9 Great-Grandchildren.
A Visitation for Friends and Family will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 beginning at 5 pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home - Port Orange, 4815 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32129. Visitation will continue until 6:00 pm when a Celebration of Eleanor's Life will be held, led by Chaplain Mark Spivey.
A Committal Gathering will take place on Friday, September 20, 2024, 10 am at the Jefferson Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 401 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA.
